Does this new template make my bookshelf look fat?

and an article by a pretty impressive AMERICAN writer:

Op-Ed Columnist – They Sure Showed That Obama – NYTimes.com

one of my favorite lines;

“ Steele’s argument against the stimulus package is that “in the history of mankind” no “federal, state or local” government has ever “created one job.” As it happens, among the millions of jobs created by the government are the federal investigators now pursuing Steele for alleged financial improprieties in his failed 2006 Senate campaign.”

and another one which I’m guessing Alan would call anti-American, if he took the troubnle to read it. Too much trouble to read all this? Is that a pro-American ideal?

whoa, talk about a thin skin! Calm down Alan, take a pill or something before you blow a gasket! I’d hate to be responsible for you having a stroke!
PS I knew you’d find a way to weasle out of reading those articles — artfully, but predictably done
    lol

I’m quite calm Four, thank you . But again I will point out you have a shitty attitude and I have no interest in having a discussion with someone who has a shitty attitude , thank you , allan

Alan, you’re a terrific mimic but the technique wears a bit transparent after a while. You do provide laughs, so that’s a good thing

The heading for the article you cite is New York Times Opinion

It’s not reporting, it’s not fact. It’s one man’s opinion. The WSJ has an opinion piece I could cite that reflects poorly on Pres. Obama.

But what’s the point? I’d rather read stuff you make up over cherry picked opinion pieces. Should I start cutting and pasting Rush Limbaugh to ‘prove’ a point I’d like to make?

No idea what the WSJ is, but if you think Rush L has an opinion worth repeating, well, somebody has GOT to come here and hold my head
    :D
PS I don’t post these articles to “prove” any points. I post them because I think they’re written by intelligent writers who have interesting things to say, things I felt like sharing with friends. I’ll stop now.

WSJ is the Wall Street Journal.

Carolyn, darling, curing 8 years of screwball conservatism (turning surplus to trillion+ deficit) with a gigantic slug of screwball liberalism isn’t my idea of a cure.

Careful of post hoc ergo propter hoc. He wasn’t charged with crime because he’s wrong on the stimulus, he’s charged with crime because someone has evidence that he committed criminal offenses which have nothing to do with the stimulus.

To risk in appropriately applying a mechanical/physics doctrine to social policy, management by negative feedback always entails the risk of out-of-control osscilation.

I don’t know if the WSJ is a bunch of snooty bullshit or if I’m too stupid to understand it.

Rosary, thanks. didn’t recognize the initials, as we call it The Walltowall Mighty Murdoch Muddle (I made that up)

Roger, will happily respond when I decode your posting

    Carolyn, dearest –

post hoc ergo propter hoc – logical fallacy, “after it therefore because of it.” I took a shower this morning. It snowed this afternoon. The shower caused the snow.

negative feedback & oscillation. Things suck, so you push them in another direction. Now they suck in the other direction so you push them back. Now they suck worse. Etc.

    snooty bullshit – the WSJ

Oops, gotta go play the drums on Locust Avenue so the iguanas don’t attack Fairmont.

see? Didn’t I tell you and tell you, NO SHOWERS in the MORNING? Gawd — now look what you’ve gone and done!
::wagging accusatory finger at Latin Speaking Snow Maker:::
PS and go pick up your iguanas before they suck up all the oxygen in town.

I dunno, it worked so well in The Blob…
