Zodiac unbagged!!

Tags:

I’ve long been interested in the Zodiac Killer.  As serial killers go he had more style than any ten other contenders.  He still has a bit of a cult following comprised of people who ‘investigate’ the case and develop suspects.

Yesterday a total unknown entered the arena.  A 47 yr old woman claims her adoptive father was the Zodiac and that she actually participated in at least one murder.  She also claims she was the author of one note to the press (The Zodiac wrote prolificly to the press) when she was 7 yrs old.  She says she did it to try to get help for her father (but then she claims she was oblivious about the Zodiac Killings until the late 90’s).  It does however add an interesting element….imagine how convoluted a criminal profile would become if someone else DID write one of the letters.

Interestingly, the lead detective on the Zodiac case (also steve mcqueens model for Bullit) was caught forging at least ONE of the Zodiacs letters…..

Ugh

I picked a hell of a time to lose weight – everything out this year is so UGLY!  I just took a dress in to have it taken down a couple of sizes, and it will cost me at least as much as the dress originally cost to do it.

Goodness, what an age we live in . It’s true,

The Fifth Hundred Post: about the NYC Flyby that made people poop their pants!!

I’m so proud of myself.  Not because this is the 500th post and I probably won a prize, but because I went until almost 12:30 p.m. PDT without clicking on Drudge!  What discipline!

When I finally did visit the DrudgeReport, one of the stories was about the Air Force One flyby of the Statute of Liberty and nearby locales, with two F-16 chase planes.  Apparently all the proper local authorities were notified that the Feds were doing a ‘photo shot’ and were even told where the planes would be, BUT all the local authorities were instructed by the Feds not to announce it ahead of time.  The Public was kept out of the loop.

George Adamson & Christian the Lion

Tags: , ,

George Adamson was married to Joy Adamson (Born Free) and was the man who’s expertise was given to Christian the Lion’s re-entry into the jungles of Africa.  He was murdered by poachers in 1989.

George Adamson wrote in his book:

“Who will now care for the animals, for they cannot look after themselves? Are there young men and women who are willing to take on this charge? Who will raise their voices, when mine is carried away on the wind, to plead their case?”

has anyone been watching In Treatment this season? It seems to me quantum lightyears better than the first, and those first seasons were fanatastic. Amazing. Having been on both sides of the couch, I’m amazed. They couldn;t have done better.

Well, I’ll be damned. I was reading this article on

Piracy and the insurance companies

TAGS: None

I  heard  this  on  NPR  this  AM  .  I  don’t  know if its true or not  but  I  had  to laugh when i  heard  it .

You  would think  that the insurance  companies  would
“hate” this  piracy  epidemic but  from  what  i  heard  on  NPR they  are actually benefitting hugely  from  it .  Yes  they are  the  ones  that  pay  the  ransoms ultimately but  what  they have  done is add a surcharge to any shipping company  plying the  waters around Somalia.  The  surcharge  is as  much as  30 percent  plus.   Apparantly  the  insurance companies have  reaped  over  what  they  pay  out for  ransom somewhere  in the  neighborhood  of  300 million  dollars from  these  surcharges since all this piracy began  in  earnest .   Hmmm, so  it  appears    it  is  in their  best  interest  to  just  go  along  with  things   as  they are .   After all,  a  tidy  profit  is a  tidy profit .    Allan
