What are your plans for Tuesday night?
Out here on the West Coast we get to hear the networks tell us who won at a very reasonable hour. With Bush winning the last two, and me having suspected that it was going to happen, there was nothing really memorable about those two election evenings. The 2004 election was very amusing, because any Democrat they could have run could have beaten Bush, except the one they chose, Kerry.
And now the shoe is possibly on the other foot (he said, but hoping he was wrong), and the Republicans picked the one Republican who couldn’t beat Obama.
After our hour of Family Guy on Channel 5 (OMG, would they yank Family Guy just to do election returns!!!) I’ll start flipping around, looking for a car chase. Then I’ll check the cable movie channels to see if anything good is on. Eventually I’ll start checking out FoxNews, CNN, etc. If it’s over quickly, meaning an Obama win, I’ll see what weapons are being examined in detail on the Military Channel or how products are made on Discovery, or string theory, the cosmos, etc. on the Science Channel. And then in bed by 10.
But holy cow, what if they still can’t call the Presidential contest and it gets to be 10 p.m. my time?! Then I’ll be all a twitter and I’ll be pacing and wondering and imagining a brave new world without Bush, but also without Obama…
Sure, I’ll be disappointed if McCain/Palin loses. But I’ll hide the pain and just soldier on.
What’s your election night going to be like?
Booooooooo!
Happy Halloween to all.
Aussies & Indies on Obama
I read a business currency from Australia-NZ. Basically it was trying to rev up for the inevitability that they’d need to send more troops into Afghanistan once Obama calls on them. I heard a similar posture from a politician from India (on CSPAN) re: a more cooperative global vision once Obama gets in versus mere self interest (free trade etc). This was so heartening.
I’m curious
Whats become of Bly , Kal and 222 ? allan
Politics
So, In spite of all the hot air about acorns it turs out a high level Republican vote register-er is the one who got led away in handcuffs for just plain old election fraud. He apparently registered and voted in multiple locations,
So, in spite of all the hot air about the race hating of Obamas ex-hillbilly preacher it turns out 2 Republican skinheads are led away in handcuffs after apparently actually BEGINNING a racial killing spree which they intended to end by assassinating Obama.
Also, the arkansas reported who depicted Ann Coulter in “W” is beaten to death in her home. Now everyone who watches CSI knows that repeated blows to the head are a clear indication that the attack was directed at this specific victim….it is personal. Yet the police in arkansas go public by saying they have no suspects, no clues, but are certain the attack was “random”. This wasn’t “random”…..this was the act of a crazed republican hillbilly.
Reports are already coming in a those darned “glitchy” vote machines switching peoples votes from Obama to McCain…..maybe this is why McCain is assuring people that the polls mean nothing and that he is actually winning.

We Did Not Get In
We got in line at 12:00, a full 3 hours before the doors opened, and we did not get in. There was a huge problem with university students line cutting. When we arrived we were told we were around number 1700 in our particular line. We should have been golden. By the time the line started moving we were more like 2500. There was no attempt whatsoever at managing the line. Evenso, we were right up by the door when they stopped letting people in. But, we did get to see Obama go from his car into the auditorium. We ended up watching the speech on closed circuit television from another building. Obama did go out on the soccer field for a minute after his speech ended, but we didn’t see that. A friend of mine did though.
As much as I really do want to be irate with the university students for line cutting, I can’t. If I’d seen friends of mine headed to the back of the line from where I was, I probably would have waived them in with me.
RIP

My New Post
This is my new POST. It’s quite a bit better than a new post by – say….Bert or Vanda. It uses more PUNCTUATION and even has a BULLETED List.
- Here it is right here.
- This is more of it.
- And this is the last part
I find it acceptable in all ways.
