To anyone who got an Email from me containing objectionable links: sometime between the time I went out to dinner last night and the time I came home from dinner, a spammer got hold of my Email and sent Emails to everyone on my AOL Adress Book with objectionable links. I changed my AOL Password and effectively deleted my AOL Adress Book, but I apologize to anyone who was upset by said Emails, even though it was not me.
Terror in Louisiana!
Fire probed at St. Helena pigs lips plant
By The Associated Press

State fire investigators spent Wednesday at a St. Helena Parish plant that sold pickled pigs’ lips by the gallon through grocery and convenience stores around the Southeast.
Arson unit supervisor Donald Carter said they don’t yet know what started the fire. It broke out Monday, when Farm Fresh Foods Suppliers in St. Helena Parish was closed.
The plant between Pine Grove and Montpelier made and packaged gallon jars of snacks including pickled eggs and pork lips, feet and hocks, and smaller jars of those and of pickled sausages and quail eggs.
It sold direct to stores within 150 miles of Mobile, Ala., and to chains including Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie and Piggly Wiggly.
Plant manager Matthew Dufour said Tuesday that the interior was largely gutted, and much of the roof collapsed.
Here We Go A-Caroling
At my place of employment (a Native American casino in SouthWest Louisiana), while performing my duties as a Table Games Dealer I am forced to listen to Christmas music. So I would like to take this forum to note why I object to several Christmas songs that I have heard over and over and over and over in the past few weeks; feel free to add your own complaints.
1. The First Noel: The lyrics state, “The First Noel, the Angels did say / Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay . . . They looked up and saw a star / Shining in the East beyond them far…” The Star is in the Gospel of Matthew, and led the Wise Men to the manger; the Angels and Shepherds are in the Gospel of Luke, and the Shepherds did not see the Star.
2. Do You Hear What I Hear: Verse 3 states, “Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, / “Do you know what I know? / In your palace warm, mighty king, / Do you know what I know? / A Child, a Child shivers in the cold– / Let us bring him silver and gold, / Let us bring him silver and gold.” For the love of God, get that shivering Child a blanket instead!
3. Christmas Mix Lyrics by Destiny’s Child: Not only do we have five or six different Christmas songs plugged into this mess, but Destiny’s Child manages to make all the songs sound exactly alike!
4. Santa Baby: I don’t know who sings the version they play at our casino; I don’t WANT to know. This song has “ewwww” all over it.
5. No More Blue Christmas by Natalie Cole: “I just had to meet you to make Christmas seem worthwhile.” Wow, what a great way to cheapen the Spiritual basis of the Season.
The Last Word On My Weblog
I’m keeping www.fromtherecamier02.wordpress.com as my weblog – change your bookmarks! (I changed the link on this blog, already, using my God-like powers.)
My Weblog, Continued
OK, the Wordpress people are working on getting the issue of me not being able to update my weblog at www.fromtherecamier.wordpress.com; but for now, there is what I choose to call a ‘mirror weblog’ at http://fromtherecamier02.wordpress.com/, which has updates since May 9th. (I am hoping that at some point I will be able to sign into my original weblog, once Wordpress figures out what’s wrong; so don’t change your bookmarks just yet.)
My Blog on Involuntary Hiatus
I am very frustrated with the Wordpress.com people; I am currently unable to sign on to my Wordpress.com account, as I keep being told that my user name is invalid. And it is difficult in the extreme to get support from Wordpress.com, as one has to be signed in (!) to access the Support pages. However, I have sent a few Emails, and hope to have things updated in a day or two. (Patience, my pretties, and pay no attention to the woman ranting and raving at her nonresponsive Wordpress.com signin page.)
Announcement
My blog, www.fromtherecamier.org, died yesterday, and I seem to have lost all the stuff I had on it. I am now considering what to do now, and I should have something figured out in a few days; I still want to have a weblog, but it will take me some time to figure out how to set things up the way I want. I consider this an opportunity; one door slams shut, and another opens.
2008 Olympics
So, has anyone been watching? on purpose? (All the watching I have been doing has been because I’ve been in a room with a TV on the Olympics, not because I turned on the TV myself to watch them.)
